Chief Executive Officer and Chief Engineer

Daniel is the Chief Engineer and CEO of Brain Murmurs. He is in charge of new technology conception and implementation and has day-to-day responsibility for all operations of the company. Daniel has considerable experience in many different technical fields, including spacecraft propulsion, parallel computing, embedded systems, distributed systems, information retrieval, wireless networking, VoIP, and more.

Daniel earned his master (1996) and bachelor (1994) of science degrees in aeronautical and astronautical engineering from the University of Washington, studying space propulsion, energy conversion, numerical analysis, computational fluid dynamics, and finite element analysis. During this time he developed an interest in software development, getting his start writing FORTRAN programs for school and multiplayer internet games in C and C++ for fun.

He was hired by Lockheed Martin Astronautics immediately following his graduation, and spent three years developing spacecraft software in the flight systems group. Daniel wrote an electrical power system control software suite targeted for four different spacecraft. He also wrote the articulation and control code for Stardust's navigational mirror and the spacecraft attitude control code for the mission's comet flyby phase.

Daniel worked on FireWire home theatre controls systems at Digital Harmony, then developed information retrieval engines for the 360 Powered corporation and Arcessa, Incorporated.

He then helped to architect and develop of the Versada Networks online presence agent server. Daniel served as the technical lead and headed up an international team of engineers based in Bangalore, India and Redmond, Washington.

Mr. Pasco is also the founder of the JUDGE universal distributed game engine project and a former music student of the Cornish College of the Arts. He is also the author of the Soft Arts blog, where he writes about life in the tech industry, Chinese martial arts, and Taoist philosophy.

Daniel led our consulting work with Cray and Nielsen Media Research. He served as the architect and lead developer for JIVA and Pulse, as well as most of our other on-going ventures.

Senior Software Engineer

Garrett was the first employee hired at Brain Murmurs. He is a brilliant developer and a priceless asset for this company. Garrett is valued not only by us, but our customers, who have often expressed great relief at the knowledge that he would be helping them out with their challenges.

Mr. Kelly is an accomplished Java developer and user interface developer. He is an expert on Twisted Pair's Dispatch Communicator and WAVE SDK. Garrett's successes have moved him up from development and testing to architecture, project management, documentation, hiring, client relations, and formal bidding on contracts.

Garrett holds a bachelor's degree from Humboldt State University.

Senior Software Engineer

Garret has an impressive ability to quickly assess a new technology and start working with it.

Originally hired as an intern to help out making simple bug fixes and testing the software that we develop for our clients, Mr. Cole is now the lead engineer on Quickshow, a distributed Shockwave Flash authoring tool developed by our company for Open The Door Media. Garret is an aggressive problem solver and elemental force in terms of productivity, easily finishing tasks within hours that would take a group of regular developers days to complete.

Mr. Cole has done considerable Windows development work on our SIP-related contracts and is a contributer to the Pulse BlackBerry Dialup Network Service.

Beyond being highly intelligent, Garret is creative and diligent in his endeavors. Of our staff, he is one of the cleverest and most dedicated team members, as well as one of the most personable.

Software Engineer

Erik is one of the few employees not named Garret(t) here at BMI. Despite this, he still manages to get work done.

Erik's specialties include usability, product testing, visual arts, and web development (PHP, HTML, CSS, Javascript). Erik holds a bachelor's degree in psychology and a master's degree in User Centered Design.

Although he is a newer employee, Erik has already made significant contributions to product development for Brain Murmurs and has cultivated an extensive familiarity with the ins and outs of the Dojo Toolkit while working on IMP.

Erik also heads up our promotional efforts for IMP and is actively involved in numerous other projects throughout the company.

Software Engineer

Another one of our newer team members, Gabriel has demonstrated a intuitive capacity for software development and a technical brilliance that belies his status as a junior developer. As can be gleaned from the bass guitar behind him he is also a working musician, which has made him an invaluable advocate for the musician's perspective on things during the development of IMP.

Gabe has also been actively involved in promoting IMP and represented us at the 2007 SXSW conference
