Applications of JIVA

JIVA is designed for solving naturally parallel (also known as "embarrassingly parallel") problems. Problems of this sort easily divide into atomic units; segments of a problem that can be passed to and processed to completion by a computer with no additional data from the server or other computers. Many such problems exist including data mining, animation rendering, protein folding, Monte Carlo simulations, and brute force code decryption.

Obtaining applications for JIVA

At present there are no 3rd party developers for JIVA, although this is likely to change over time. Our own Professional Services division is available to develop or port your applications for you, or you can use our forthcoming JIVA SDK (available July 2006) to develop applications of your own.

Brain Murmurs itself will be investing considerable effort to bring applications to the JIVA plaftorm. If there is a particular application you would like to see us release for JIVA, please let us know.

Developing Applications for JIVA

If you are interested in writing your own application for JIVA or porting an existing application to the JIVA framework you will probably be interested in our forthcoming JIVA SDK (available July 2006) . The SDK will allow you to develop signed task application bundles using the Java programming language. Our Professional Services group is available for consultation and training if required.
